AGCC - NatWest Cricket Force Day 2011

On the 10th April 2011, Aspley Guise Cricket Club took part in the nationwide NatWest CricketForce event.

This event was primarily aimed at encouraging as many of the club’s members and supporters to take part and volunteer some of their time and skills to help the club rejuvenate the facilities up at the Common.

The event proved to be a great success with a great turnout from youth players and parents in particular during the course of the day. Once again a massive thank you to everyone who either donated or helped support the event your support is greatly appreciated.

More photos will be added to the website over the coming days.

AGCC Curry Night - 2011

Aspley Guise Cricket Club would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Curry Night (on Monday 14th March).

It was an extremely enjoyable evening and the club would like to thank Abdul Hai and his team for the buffet that they provided that satisfied just about every taste. There even seemed to be plenty for anyone who could manage seconds!

The club can confirm that we managed to raise over £600 (including the money raised from the raffle), which is a magnificent achievement. The money raised will go towards the running of the club and will most importantly ensure that the club can continue to stage cricket on a weekly basis for both adult and senior club members.

The club would particularly like to thank Colin Hudson for all of the hard work he put into running and organising the event and he more than anyone else was delighted with how well the evening was attended.

The club would like to thank Nik Russon, George Tidder, Ben Savage and Matt Greenwell for their help in selling raffle tickets and to Diane Quick for donating prizes for the raffle.

The club will also be passing on all our thanks to Mr Hai and his team soon.

Thank you again to everyone who attended or contributed to the evening and we look forward to seeing you either playing or watching cricket on the Common in 2011!

However, the night would not have been possible had it not been for the hard work put in by Richy Armstrong.

The Club would like to thank Richy Armstrong for all of his work in running and organising the event.

In regards to the night itself the racing on display was top quality with twists and turns around every corner. The 2nd Hurdles race in particular saw Matt Funge fall at the hurdles 4 times (Matt and the Horse he was riding at the time remained uninjured thankfully).

The last race saw Adam Henchy's horse Mad Hatter romp to victory. In his press conference after the race Adam stated that he was delighted with the result and he hoped it would be the first of many wins for the horse!
