Robin Spring

Dear players, members and supporters of Aspley Guise Cricket Club

It is with great sadness that I write to you this evening with news of the passing of Robin Spring.

Having played for the Club for the best part of 50 years in more recent years Springy has been the most loyal of supporters, travelling to home and away matches with our senior and junior teams. He even turned out for our tours to Wakefield and Brighton.

Unlike Cricket, love knows no boundaries and while Springy is no longer physically with us, his spirit will forever be connected to Aspley Guise Cricket Club. I don’t think there is a player at the Club that doesn’t know the story of his infamous top score of 96 not out…

We have such happy memories of our time with Robin. It is going to feel very strange not having him around at the beginning of the season.

As soon as we receive funeral arrangement details, we will send out a further communication, but in the meantime please spare a thought for Robin’s family at this very difficult time.

Many thanks,

Dave Quick
Chairman – Aspley Guise Cricket Club
